BUCKWHEAT PILLOWS – LOVE AT FIRST SLEEP

BUCKWHEAT PILLOW SLEEP

BUCKWHEAT PILLOW SLEEP

My granddaughter, Shannon, stopped by a couple of days ago complaining that she’d had a headache for about three days, and hadn’t been able to sleep at all the night before. She also said that her neck really bothered her when she slept. My wife handed her a buckwheat pillow and suggested she lie down and take a nap on the buckwheat pillow.

Shannon did as my wife suggested, waking up a few hours later. She was ecstatic, declaring she hadn’t felt so relaxed and refreshed for a long while. She asked Doris, my wife, if she could take the buckwheat pillow home and try it overnight.

However, when she got home and told her husband, Ed, about this experience, he said that he, too, had a headache, so Shannon let him take a nap on the buckwheat pillow. Ed found the same relief Shannon had experienced.

That night, they both wanted to sleep overnight on the buckwheat pillow. Shannon stood her ground, and slept overnight on it that first night, and said that she slept through out the night without waking once for the first time in a long while. The next night Shannon relented, and let Ed sleep over night on the buckwheat pillow. He, too, found the sleep to be most relaxing and refreshing.

Ed asked me if I had any business cards, which I did. He said he’s going to give those cards out like candy, and tell people just what they’re missing. Now they are both reluctantly taking turns sharing the buckwheat pillow until Ed’s new one arrives.

Neither of them had ever heard of buckwheat pillows before they started hearing about me selling some new fangled kind of pillow on a web site. Neither of them had considered buying one until they had actually experienced sleeping on one. Experience is the best teacher. Have you had your experience yet? Don’t wait any longer, order some refreshing sleep now. And then share your experience with those whom you would like to see enjoy life more.

Speeding the Recovery from Your Neck Injury

There’s nothing scarier than receiving an injury to your neck or back. These can be truly life threatening issues, and even if you sustain a minor injury, they can still be extremely painful. After all, our neck and back are adjusted and turned just about every time we move. This means everything from walking to fidgeting in a chair can be extremely painful if you’ve recently sustained a neck or back injury.

In some cases, this pain is even severe enough that it can keep people from sleeping properly. This can quickly lead to secondary problems such as a lack of concentration or a lowered immune system. If this is the case, look into a proper neck support pillow. This should be firm enough that it keeps your neck relatively still and allows you the time needed to heal your injury. They are especially helpful in fostering a good night’s sleep as well as keeping you comfortable during a long day at your work desk.

Buckwheat Pillows – Even More Versatile Than I Thought

Adjustable Volume Buckwheat Pillows = Versatility
Adjustable Volume Buckwheat Pillows = Versatility

No one is too old to learn. I had a prospective customer call me to find out if it was too late to have a buckwheat pillow shipped to reach him in time for Mother’s Day. Fed-Ex assured me that they would indeed have it delivered in time.

I called the man back to give him the good news, and as I always do, I advised him to remove a substantial amount of the hulls to find out what volume of hulls was most to his liking.
To my surprise , he answered, “I like them just the way you send them, right out of the box”. I thought to myself, “This guy really has no idea how fully filled I ship my pillows”. But then he said “I bought my first pillow from you, and it was perfect for me just as it was’. He explained that he had had a neck pain problem, and he found that if he put the fully filled pillow under his shoulders, and tilted the back of his head down over the back of the pillow, it gave him relief from his chronic neck pain.
So I learned something – once again the adjustability of my buckwheat pillows is of paramount importance in the therapeutic treatment of pain as well as the comfort of pure support. I have learned an important lesson. Don’t try to limit people’s ingenuity in adapting truly versatile items to their advantage. Perhaps you can take advantage too. Of course, you have to buy a buckwheat pillow first.

Certified Organic Buckwheat Pillow Too Expensive? Probably!

Buckwheat Neck Pillow

Buckwheat Neck Pillow

Surprised? Let me explain. Buckwheat is a unique plant in a number of ways. Most people think of it as a grain, but it is actually classified as a fruit. Most cultivated fruits require considerable care and pampering, thus they normally need to be fertilized, protected from insect pests, and protected from fungal and bacterial agents. Normally the method of protection against these is to use chemical sprays.

These chemicals cost money, but they are far offset by the increase in production. When crops are produced organically, you don’t have the costs of the chemicals, but the productivity is greatly reduced. Natural methods of providing nutrition and pest control can also be expensive, and the production is still considerably lower than when chemicals are used. Thus the temptation to use some chemicals and still call your products “organic” can be pretty strong for economic reasons.

That’s why the concept of “Certified Organic” is usually important if you want to be sure that what you buy is truely organic. To be designated as “Certified Organic”, a rigorous system of expensive government rules, regulations, and inspections is required, which results in certified organic products to be much more expensive. However, such is not the case with buckwheat. Why? Because buckwheat really doesn’t need any of the chemicals that nearly all other crops benefit from. It will grow on relatively poor soil, and has almost no insect, fungal, or bacterial enemies, so money spent on chemicals would be wasted.

The point is, farmers aren’t going to spend money on chemicals they don’t need to, so that means the buckwheat will be truly organic, even when it doesn’t carry the label of “certified organic”. So, in turn, you’re likely wasting your money if you pay the higher price that would need to be charged for a “certified organic” pillow as opposed to an “organic” buckwheat pillow. So you can safely buy a Buckwheat Glory organic Buckwheat Pillow. Everyone today needs to get the most bang for their buck(wheat) pillow.

Health Issues A Reason To Not Buy A Buckwheat Pillow? No Way

For A Sore Back - A Buck Wheat Pillow

For A Sore Back - A Buck Wheat Pillow

Health is a reason to buy a buckwheat pillow. Certainly not a reason to not buy a buckwheat pillow. In the last post I wrote about the health issues emanating from the dust mite problem inherent to other pillows, so I won’t repeat that scenario here.

Quality buckwheat pillows are a boon to allergy sufferers. They are thoroughly cleaned to remove any trace of flour or foreign substance, which results in a hypo-alleregenic pillow. Buckwheat pillows can be very beneficial to many different areas of the body which can be suffering from muscular or skeletal problems. Their malleability characteristics make them a favorite of chiropractors and other physicians to help relieve soreness and tension in the neck, shoulder, back, knees, or any area needing support or positioning while sleeping or resting.

But probably the most universally recognized health benefit comes from the simple advantage of a buckwheat pillow’s ability to allow totally relaxing and rejuvenating REM (rapid eye movement) sleep. In today’s hectic world, the inability of people to achieve, not only the proper amount of, but also the proper quality of, sleep, is a real health problem. It is only recently that the medical world is becoming more fully aware of the consequences of inadequate and inferior sleep. Buckwheat pillows are a welcome part of the solution, and are finally becoming recognized as such.

Why “Organic” Buckwheat Pillows, Not “Certified Organic”?

buckwheat neck pillow

Buckwheat grows well on relatively poor soil, and chemical fertilizers are not necessary or cost effective. Buckwheat also has a very low incidence of insect or fungal pests, and thus requires no chemical insecticides or fungicides.

In light of these facts, and the fact that meeting the certification requirements of the “Certified Organic” designation is a very time consuming and expensive process, it would mean that buckwheat pillow costs would go up excessively compared to the insignificant benefits of having the “Certified” title applied.

Another factor entering into the equation, is the fact that buckwheat is grown on a much smaller scale, than are most other crops. You would still have most of the time and expense involved in meeting the “Certified” requirements spread over a significantly smaller crop production, thereby greatly increasing the per unit cost of production.

Bottom line is that it would not be economically feasible to pay a much higher price for a buckwheat pillow designated “certified” when it would be virtually identical, for all practical purposes, to a 100% organic buckwheat pillow. If the “certified” pillow doesn’t carry a much higher price tag, then it must make up the difference by using either inferior hulls, or covering material, or possibly eliminating the zipper. The only other remedy would be to simply reduce the size of the pillow, thereby using less buckwheat hulls. It’s just too big a price to pay for whatever benefit, if any, is achieved.

Why Your New Buckwheat Pillow Needs Some Hulls Removed

An Overfilled Buckwheat Pillow

An Overfilled Buckwheat Pillow

Many people don’t experience the fullest enjoyment of their buckwheat pillows, at least at first, because they have them too full.

Many merchants purposely overfill their buckwheat pillows because first impressions are important. People who are used to regular pillows are used to seeing a plump, full, pillow. If they open a box and see a rather flat, under filled pillow some will immediately return them, or at least say “Hey! I’m being ripped off here”.

I counter this with an overfilled pillow and an instruction sheet advising them to remove nearly 1/2 of the buckwheat hulls, along with a plastic bag to facillitate their removal and storage.

But there is a problem. Many people don’t read instructions. They use their new pillow right out of the box without reading the instructions. Now they find it too firm and unyielding.

The hulls must have room inside the cover to freely move and shape themselves to your head and neck. To get any additional desired height or loft to the pillow, you just push inward on the ends of the pillow and it will “bunch up” in the center. If this sounds complicated, don’t worry. It’s just what you naturally feel like doing to a pillow that’s not as fat as you’d like it. The good thing is that on a buckwheat pillow it works wonderfully well.

But don’t take my word for it. Buy a buckwheat pillow and try it for yourself. You’ll really be glad you did.

Buckwheat Pillows And Aromatherapy Sachets

Lavender Aromatherapy Sachets

Lavender Aromatherapy Sachets

Buckwheat Pillows and aromatherapy sachets make a natural pairing for anyone who values sound sleep, and who doesn’t? The buckwheat pillows provide the comfort needed  to fall asleep quickly, and , importantly, to stay asleep.

The essential oils from the lavender or camomile herbs , provide the aromatherapy to enhance the comfort provided by the buckwheat pillows. This just produces an unbeatable combination. These herbs have been used for thousands of years because of their ability to sooth and relax the mind.

It’s hard to fall asleep and stay asleep if your mind is agitated and upset. It’s also really difficult if your pillow doesn’t provide the support to your neck, head, and shoulders that you need.

This combination of a buckwheat pillow and an aromatherapy sachet is the definition of luxury while sleeping. Sleep well.
