Ergonomic support is the reason chiropractors and physical therapists prescribe buckwheat pillows to their patients, and it is also what produces the blissful sleep resulting from sublime comfort. When you are really comfortable, it’s generally pretty easy to fall asleep.
Buckwheat hulls have little ridges on them, which cause the individual hulls to cling to each other, just enough to give them the characteristic we call malleability. Malleability is the ability to conform to the exact curvature of the cervical area of your head and neck, or any other part of the body, for that matter. By doing that, they provide even, gentle support to the head and neck, or what ever part of the body you use it for. That’s called ergonomic support.
As the hulls become polished through use, this phenomenon actually improves. These pillows find much use in the treatment of our wounded warriors returning from war. I was curious as to why I sold so many buckwheat pillows in a certain area of Texas. I found out it was because a vast number of our wounded are returned to treatment centers in that area.
Of course, there are many other advantages of
buckwheat pillows, but this is the one that the chiropractors value above all the rest.
