BUCKWHEAT PILLOWS - BEST CHOICE IN A BAD ECONOMY

HERE I AM

HERE I AM

Buckwheat pillows are the way to stretch your dollars in economic doldrums such as we are now in. Does that surprise you? Stay with me on this one, because it may not be apparent at first glance. The important thing in this regard is to stick with quality buckwheat pillows, not those el cheapos sold in discount stores and elsewhere that are made in China or Japan, and sell for 1/2 or less than a good quality one.

A good quality buckwheat pillow will last for 10 to 15 years, without fear of a dust mite infestation. It will improve in comfort with use, and will always be fully adjustable as to your own personal comfort level, due to the concealed nylon zipper.

The poorer quality ones will be lucky to survive a year. They probably are not adjustable in their volume of hulls. They’re usually filled with imported mulch grade hulls, which means that by federal law they must be roasted to kill any foreign insects or bacteria. The roasting bakes out some of their natural oils, reducing their life expectancy.

They are seldom properly vacuumed to remove all traces of buckwheat flour, thus they may support allergies and aggravate any tendencies toward asthma. These low quality buckwheat pillows can not be considered hypoallergenic. There is a low percentage of people who are allergic to buckwheat flour, so it really needs to be properly removed by triple vacuuming.

So, bottom line, considering that conventional feather or foam pillows should be replaced periodically due to the dust mite infestation problem, and low quality buckwheat pillows are not satisfactory, the only thing  that makes real economic sense is to invest in good high quality buckwheat pillows.
