- Hospitality-A Buckwheat Pillow
Your favorite buckwheat pillow - have you ever forgotten to take it along with you on a trip? Does that mean your trip will be a disaster? Not necessarily. I understand some of the better hotels and motels provide buckwheat pillows to those of their clientele who request them.
No, they probably won’t actually ask if you’d like to have one to sleep on. You’ll probably have to ask. Fortunately, I’ve never forgotten to take mine along, so I haven’t really had any experience in this regard.
The older I get, the more I find myself forgetting things, sometimes important things. So I usually make up a list of everything I want to take along on a trip. My buckwheat pillow is always near the top of that list.
But someday you or I may somehow find ourselves in a situation where we need to stay overnight somewhere without having our buckwheat pillow with us. I believe it would be a good idea if we would make it a point, when we go to a hotel or motel, to ask them whether or not they have available buckwheat pillows as an option.
This would accomplish two things. First, you would find out which hotels and motels do provide buckwheat pillows as an option, so you would know where to go if you did find yourself away from home without your buckwheat pillow, and secondly, hopefully, if enough of us do ask about the availability of buckwheat pillows, more hotels and motels may make them available.
You might also suggest that they make mention of their availability in their brochures, in their adds, and have a small placard to that effect in evidence at their reception desk.
If enough of us do this, maybe the specter of finding ourselves away from home without our beloved buckwheat pillow and no substitute available, will become resolved.
I’d be interested in finding out which hotels and motels do provide buckwheat pillows for their clientele upon request.
